You won't get a 'postcodes' screen up - if you are referring to one of the recent posts about 7-digit postcodes, it was a fudge based on someone compiling UK postcodes as POI's and creating a copy MAP DVD with those included.

To enter a 5-digit postcode, you do that from the Destination Input screen, and your nav should ask CITY/PC - you just start entering the postcode letters/numbers in there.

Oh, and welcome to the forum BTW

There is no postcode section..... see below on how to use route by postcode.

Nope, you have been mis-informed, the secret menu does not have any postcode stuff in there at all.

You do not get a line or screen that says "input postcode here"....

Yes, when you want to put a postcode in (as the destination you want to be routed to), select;

GPS-Navigation,
scroll to the "city/town" line and just input the postcode, so instead of typing "London" you type "E17 7QT" thats it.

So, use the postcode instead of the town/city name.

To get to the secret manu, select set (or settings from main menu) and when in the set menu press and hold the menu button (for 10 seconds) and this will force the menu to appear.

Yes just leave well alone mate, you can use it to turn on 3D perspective mode (v27 and above), but thats about it.

Its a diagnostic tool, if the Nav system goes wrong, you can use it to see if the nav units is picking up GPS satelites(sp?), soft ahd hardware revisions etc

First thing you need to do is work out what version of firmware you have.

To find out:
Go to the main menu. From there, click on the "SET" or "SETTINGS" selection.
The type of your nav computer and OS will appear on the upper right corner of the screen.

The first digit tells you which version of the nav computer you have, and the last two digits tell you the OS version.

If the first digit is a "4," you have a MK4 computer. If you have a MK4, then the newest OS version is 4-1/91.

If you have 4-1/70 or higher then you can have 3D perspectibe mode, to enable this, Perspective mode needs to be enabled in 2 places,

1: The hidden setup menu.
2: In the arrow map pointing menu and

Go to the menu screen select set (or settings) and hold menu button for 10 seconds, when the hidden menu appears scroll down untill the perspective mode option is selectable.

Then with the map on the display, press the right hand round knob and scroll to map veiw and Perspective is now an option.

Hope this helps
