Anybody here who knows how to code the alarm system?
Bought the (used) 2004 X5 without alarm in Germany and installed the alarm myself.
The siren does reacts to opening doors or the hood but it looks like the ultrasone sensor doesn't work.
The rearview mirror with the clownsnose did work without any coding.
Would/should the ultrasone sensor produce i-Bus activity when the alarm is set?

You must change the GM code in the car to tell the GM that it now has the alarm fitted, otherwise the vehicle behaves as if no alarm is present.

So go to the dealer and ask them to code the "retrofit alarm" option then it should all work

Yes, I have many requests for Daytime Running Lights (DRL). I will try and make it my next feature...

I'll second that request - would be very useful

François, where did you get that program and what kind of hardware do you need to use it?
I installed an alarm but it is not coded in the ZKE.
The interior sensor does not work....

I can't get this software to instal.

This is the error message I get in Vista.

Runtime error '339'

Component 'comdlg32.ocx' or one of it's dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.

Pretty sure Jochen put something in the readme about this, you have to register the OCA as an administrator in Vista.

Find the shortcut to a command prompt (All Programs -> Accessories) and RIGHT click. Select "Run as Administrator", the enter the administrator password or accept the action in the resulting dialog. Change directory to the folder where you installed NavCoder eg :

CD \Downloads\NavCoder

then run the command :

regsvr32 comdlg32.ocx

This should register the OCX control and allow you to run NavCoder.
