Mk4 Navigation installation help

Hi folks , I have recently purchase as MK4 navigation computer for my 2005 X5 , original navigation unit was stolen from the car . Do I have to disconnect the battery before I connect the new unit ? Is there a sequence which i should follow or it is simple plug and play , please advice any help is appriciated.

The MkIV is pretty much plug and go ... just make sure you remember to connect the GPS antenna. I'd make sure the keys were out of the ignition first though, but I have swapped in/out MkIV's without disconnecting the battery with no ill effects...

I agree, just plug all 3 connectors into the unit and you should be good to go.
