Please give the BMW P/N of the VM. The number you posted is not the BMW one. Your number will be 65 50 x xxx xxx. Then maybe we can tell.

You can do anything with the right tools. Yes, the unit CAN be reflashed from 4:3 to 16:9.

I do not have the tools or the knowledge, but this German company here does:

The video module EEPROM (4 x N28F020 2MB memory chips) cannot be re-flashed over the ibus interface, so it is impossible for NavCoder to do it.

Does anybody know the details of this procedure? This is modified flash of 4:3 unit (changed to 16:9) or this just the reflash of 16:9 EEPROM to 4:3 device? Or some other procedure?

And one more question about custom picture in Videomodule http://www.carsolution.eshop4free.de...46fecb76bdb60d How?

May be there is something else interesting but I do not speak German to find that.....

Please give us the actual BMW P/N from your VM and maybe we can tell if it will work for a wide screen. Also look for my post today with all of the VM P/Ns on www.bimmerboard.com nav forum.
