Finally successfully copied Navtec 2005.2

I finally successfully copied, or should I say figured out how to make a backup of my navigation dvd and Nav software v25
... They definitely like to make it tricky for people that get a joy out of toying with this stuff..

Later!

Not sure what you mean I made a backup copy of my 2004.2 DVD using Nero and have used the backup copy for everyday use for over a year. I am assuming I'll be able to make a similar backup of the 2005.2 disk once I pick one up.

Well initially I was using UltraISO to convert the .mdf and .mds files into a .bin(image file) and a .cue(track info). I used Nero burning software to read just the bin file (had problems trying to get the cue file to burn the bin) and burn and I took the defaults and burned at 4x with DVD+R media. Then bada-bing, it all worked. I thougt it was sort of trickier than your average DVD

Damn that's a lot of techno-jargon, man! Mr. Wizard? Is that you?

I have just received the NEW DVD disc 2005-2, When I load it into my 2005 X5 it says INCORRECT DISC?? What do I need to do to make this work properly??

My software is SW 4_1/42. The disk is fine, it works in my 2005 525i.

Here's the problem. There are two different versions of the Navteq DVD for BMW's. One is for vehicles with the i-Bus (such as the X5) and the other is for vehicles with the CANBUS (such as the new 5 series). You should send one back and get the right one for the X5
