Tuner modules, do all support text ?

I just installed my retrofit nav and I have a tuner from a 98 car, I don't get radio text at all, did all tuners get text or just the newer ones?

No, not all radios support PRS and PTY

The US-market radios from 1995 to 1998 had the weather function, but they did not have RDS (radio text) and PTY. In 1999, the radios lost weather but they gained RDS and PTY. Also, the 1999 radios changed from the PI-Bus interface to the I-Bus interface for the CD changer.

I believe that some European market radios from 1995 to 1998 had both weather and RDS and PTY, but I am not entirely sure. There are a few folks on this forum with Euro radios, so they might be able to comment.

Oh I also noticed my old Business system didn't have a built in loudness countor now with the DSP It has better bass at low volumes and as you turn it up it goes away, is that in the tuner, MK4, or amp?
