Some dealers would not want to flash your Nav System at all, some would only do it after you accept you will not hold them responsible if the unit dies in the process, and other knowledge dealers will do it without any fuss, as it should. The price they might charge is inversely proportional to their honesty.

What they will do, any way, is just what you would do: i. e. Insert the SW disk, stand apart, wait, extract the disk, and press the right side button for OK. The only difference is they will probably be using the original disk.

If you get your hands on a image file of an original disk (Mode2 therefore), if you burn it correctñy, if you verify the burn, if you recheck you have got a Mode2 CD (for Mk-III), if you check the resulting CD is readable in your PC, then not many things can go wrong.

If things go wrong, the dealers solution is simply to try again with their owd disk. But if your disk is OK, you can do that yourself.
