Stevies3 is on a distinguished road
This DVD does not work with a E83 (MKIV) When I loaded it in my 328i (E90 with NAV & IDrive) it started a message that it needed to update, Please wait 5 min.... I then quikley removed the DVD not allowing for the update. Perhaps the DVD updates as well

Do you have business nav or profesional?
If you have business does it show map or just arrows now ?
If only arrows, maybe the update is so it shows the map as well like in current model of 5 series with business nav
