I need nav help !!!!!
I have a mk3 nav system in the e53 x5 2001 i think the nav computer has gone down after a upgrade went wrong i do not have nav on the menu anymore also the red light does not light up any more you can hear the drive reading the disc any ideas or is it dead. If it is dead should i change it the mk4 system is this a big job ?

try a reset, unplug the negative terminal from the battery for at least 5 minutes, then reconnect.
Is this the first time you have done a SW upgrade? Did the SW upgrade proceed normally? What version to you go from and to?
Mk 3 to Mk 4 is plug and play.

The upgrade went wrong and just froze the disc was stuck in it i have that out now put the red light is not lighting up anymore you can hear the disc trying to read it

oh. Might be that your upgrade disk was burnt in Mode 1, instead of Mode 2.
The Mark 3 is a bit of a fragile unit, and can crash with mode 1 SW.
The unit might think that the disk is still in there.

how do iburn a disc in mode with imburn that is what i used
