BMW logo doesn't show up!!!

Hello,

My Nav with MK4 was working perfectly until this afternoon,
I started engine but there was no BMW booting logo and screen was blank.
once I turn on the radio, it starts display text, but if I click GPS-Navigation menu, it goes back to blank.
to bring back the text, I need to press MENU button.
I removed map disc and click GPS-Navigation menu, it keep says "Please wait...." or something similar.
what's wrong with my nav system?
btw, I have newest software which is V31.

I would try something simple like a system reset. Wait until the Nav spins down then unplug your negative battery terminal for 5 minutes, reconnect. Let us know how you go.

Thanks!

how about unplug the cables behind the navi screen?
if this will do the same effect, it will be easier than remove spare tire out and disconnect battery.

boot logo came back.
didn't disconnect battery or cable, but just came back.

it was pretty hot today, and I've noticed delay when outside is pretty hot and it happened before

Yup. Ive had a Mk3 regularly crash on me on hot days (30 deg celsius) - my car was dark blue, the trunk got very hot.

The nav would not find the CD, would crash loading the CD, and would really struggle to read it.

Once the car got moving and cooled down, it worked better.

The hotter the nav the harder to read the disc, especially copied discs.

If this is a continuous problem, try adding a cooling fan to reduce the temp around the nav computer.
