OBC always shows Input Destination screen

Sorry if this is a well known issue, but I couldn't find it via search. I recently loaded V31 (on Mk4), and after shutting off the car while in Computer mode, then starting back up and selecting GPS-Navigation, it always displays the Input Destination screen. Since I just want the map, I have to scroll down to the Map button and select it.

Seems like with V29.1 and previous, it would remember (at least sometimes) that it was just displaying the map (rather than directions to a particular place), so all you have to do is select Menu/GPS and then you get the map immediately rather than the Input Destination screen. Can anyone shed some light on this? Typically I view the GPS without a destination selected and it's annoying to have to go through the extra step to get there. (I know - life is rough. )

Once the computer is on, it does remember the GPS mode, so you can switch back and forth between Computer and GPS without any issues.

Thanks.

Maybe a difference between Euro and US behaviour. Try Euro mode.

Would be interesting if you could go back to 4-1/91 and see if the behaviour changes

What I find is that if, when I turn off the car, the map was not being displayed, when I turn the car back on, the input destination screen will be what is displayed instead of the map when I switch to NAV again. However, if the map was being displayed when I turn off the car, upon the car being turned back on the map will be displayed. It works that way for both v29 and V31.

As an example, just like the original poster, I always have the map displayed. When I turn off the car and turn the car back on, it goes back to display the MAP. However, if I switched to MENU or I had my telephone contact list displayed etc. before I turned off the car, when the car is turned back on, the MENU or the telephone contact list will again be displayed, respectively. When I switch the display to NAV, then it is the input destination screen that is displayed instead of the MAP. To have the MAP be displayed again, I have to scroll down to the MAP option and select it and then it'll be displayed.

Same here, but sometimes just sometimes, when i pres Nav from menu it goes directly to map, i dont have the pattern for it as it does it only when, it seams to be random and does it sometimes and sometimes not

I do not get the Input Destination screen if I just turn the car off and then back on right away. The computer does not shut down immediately when power is removed. But after 15 minutes or so of being off, it makes a fresh start, and that's when the Input Destination screen returns. I'll try to check out with an older version.

(This is in Euro mode)
