X5 nav centre concerns
Not sure if I am over reacting or if I have genuine reason for concern. The TV screen that that usually comes on when the doors are open sometimes forgets to do so. If the ignition key is turned it fires straight up and the functionality seems to be ok. Sometime it looks like it is struggling with lots of lines going through the screen. A bit like a fluro light starting up. Flickers before it finally starts. That normally happens first thing of the day. Perhaps it is cold???? The other thing I have noticed is that instead of going straight to the last screen it was on, normally the CD and TC combined pages it goes to the menu page for a few seconds, as though it temporality lots it memory from the last time it was used. Should I be concerned or is this fairly normal? Thanks in advance. |

Doesn't sound completely normal, but not something I'd necessarily lose sleep over at this point.
Do you have a MkIII or MkIV? Also, are you running the latest firmware? See http://www.xoutpost.com/articles.php?...ticle&artid=59 if you aren't sure on either of these questions. :welcome: to X5world

Thanks for the welcome. Looks like it is a long way behind the latest upgrades! |

the flickering is the nav unit rebooting. It shouldnt happen all the time but it happens.

My navigation system was doing this for a while, and now it has completely gone black...it still lights up but just lights up with a black screen. I guess the only thing for me to do now is to buy a new unit. Has yours gone black yet?
