LCD Screen Internals swapped : Inverted Display

Hi Folks,

So I am in the middle of swapping the core internals off the NAVIGATIon monitor LCD display to my previous screen since it keeps shutting off.

Here is the issue...after putting everything back together, when I turn the system on...the screen in completed inverted!! All the buttons work just fine..but the display is upside down!!!

Any ideas? All the connectors have tabs and they cannot be inverted. so the connectors were connected just fine!

Confused!!

Weasel will become famous soon enough
Would turning the ribbon around backwards in the connector be an option?

Nopes, that would not be an option. All connectors seem to be ONE WAY insert only. I tried but the tabs/guides on the connectors wont let me..

Quite perplexed...Since I put the other module back in...and ITS inverted as well..

So I got my e46 board monitor to see if I had screwed the coding...but that module works fine!!

This is frustrating... haha

Ok, this is amazingly weird!!

I swapped the internals back to the modules they originally belonged to...and BAM! they work perfectly!

For some reason, the LCD Panel With the White ribbon cable is married to the LCD Driver Board that it belongs to. If you swap the LCD driver board behind the LCD screen, you could get into the same trouble I did!!

Not that you would ever need to hopefully

Just to clarify, i am talking about the INTERNALS of the LCD Panel with the buttons. The LCD Panel is the thing that folds down to accept CD/Tape and is connected to the Tape Player/ CD Player through 2 golden ribbon cables..

You have just discovered a difference due to different hardware versions.

Check the part and version numbers on the boards and screen. I bet they are not the same.

Where did you get the new internals, my NAV LCD screen has a 3" strip of greyed out pixels and I would like to just replace the screen instead of the entire unit.
