Hi jochen just purchased navcoder but I ran into trouble...

I used: a resler IBUS interface (serial)
the IBUS plug from the cd changer
an old laptop running xp pro
lastest navcoder

Problem: when I start navcoder and then connect the cable, the program either freezes completely (100% cpu load) or shuts down. Just before shutting down the statusbar says it's communicating with the IBUS ("IBUS status: busy" or "ready") I tried changing the baud rate to different values, changing IRQ of the port, disabling all other ports and hardware I don't need... I tried putting the key in pos 1, without the contact on and with a running car...

Does navcoder produce a crashlog of some sort? Maybe I could post it here for you then...

I'm really running out of ideas hope you can help me out...

thx!

What version of NavCoder are you using?
Current version is v2.6.40

NavCoder will log all ibus activity to the Navcoder.log file - send me the log file.

Jochen

thx for the reply jochen...

I run on FW 2.6.40.

The navcoder log file is empty I'm afraid, the only way to get data in the logfile is to disconnect the cable and do a scan. The minute I connect the cable to the system navcoder freezes and crashes... I suppose it doesnt have the time to write a log

some pics :

Here's a movie to illustrate wat's going on:

007.flv video

It kinda freezes there and makes a sound no message or errorcode whatsoever. When I pull the cable out navcoder dissapears and the logfile hasn't been altered...

Hope you can figure it out

Looks like corrupt data being received and the buffer is overflowing, make sure the interface is connecting to a good ground - use a separate ground to the CD changer ground

Please get in touch via email for further diagnosis

I'd be happy to test... Unfortunately I don't have TCU to test with. Although someone local in Boston might be buying one soon... I can grab his if need be...

What is the idea behind changing from NTSC to Pal for the reversing camera? Any reason for doing this?

What are the future plans for Navcoder, i.e. what are you looking at getting it to do?

The function was built in to the video module. NavCoder simply enables it.
