Mine connects to the CD changer line in the trunk (2001 325i sedan).
I took a standard serial cable, connected it to the back of my laptop, then ran the other end to the adapter I bought linked above. Then I connected the CD changer cable to the adapter. You need to verify the correct pin nout of the CD changer cable.

At the rear of your CD player it is the 3-pin connector you need. The red wire is +12v, the brown wire is GND and the white/grey/yellow wire is the i-Bus feed.
Connect to the interface pins as labelled in your picture, the NTSC pin will obviously be unsused.
