Installing MKIV from MKIII : eternal black screen

Hello,

I replaced my MKIII navigation computer by a MKIV which is normally Plug&Play.

I have read many topics but I have always a black screen. I don't understand the problem.

Three pics of my MKIII and my MKIV...

Do I go to BMW for initialize the system ? Code/recode MKIV ?

Thanks you very much.

Is your Mk4 coded for colour or mono?

Look for the text BMWC01S or BMWM01S on the nav unit part number label.

BMWM is mono, BMWC is colour. You need colour.
What is the Mk4 coded for?

It can be changed with my NavCoder software

You can use my NavCoder program to recode the Mk4 from Mono to Colour.

BMW cannot do it, but NavCoder can :-)
