nav unit and the use of different CD`s

Have any of you traveled to an area where you have to use 2 CD for the navigation system?
If so how does it works, does the nav unit ask you to insert the other the cd? And do you first use the CD for the region where the destination is, and after you do that I guess you will have to put in the CD for the region where you are at…. Any info on how the nave unit will handle this ?

It does tell you to insert the other CD. Mine did that to me on a trip from DC to the Outer Banks. You input your destination, then change the CD when it tells you to.
