Folks,
Upgraded to V26 without issue and yes the map UI is clearly superior to previous versions. However, i am now missing the current street location on the rightside of the split screen. Has anyone else noticed this?

From the screen shots on this forum, it appears that this feature has been removed.

Smile 2005/06 X5 Navigation

I'm going to be leasing a new X5 4.4i this month and..to be honest..the only thing I dont like about the vehicle is the navigation system. I have played with the Nav on a friends X5 who has a 2004 model. Will there be any changes to the nwe X5's Nav that I will get over the 2004 model's? If so, what are they? Thanks for ur help. This forum rocks by the way.

I just checked mine...it still displays the street I am on so it doesn't seem to have changed...

Actually, I've often thought that the info you get on the right side of the split screen when you are not actively receiving nav guidance is next to useless. I wish there was an option to choose the info on either side of the split screen...ie. map, guidance, radio, CD, MID data, etc. (unless there is and I've missed it).

upgraded mine and it worked like a charm, the lines are thicker, the text is clearer and you have a cool little flag at the end of your destination. I have seen some people saying that there is not much of a difference between the two so I took some pics to see the before and after for myself,

I have the same level of detail on the right side of the screen as I did in prior versions. The picture I posted was from when the vehicle was in my garage, so it didn't show the street. Once I am on a street, that detail is displayed.

Ditto.

Huge difference. It is so much easier to read. When you have it in the navigational mode in split screen mode, I like how the arrow on the left rotates as you turn the car.

Just noticed this thread yesterday...
I followed the instructions provided, and everything worked just as described. (Thanks Jeff, and everyone!) The anti-aliased graphics are a nice improvement in clarity, and the smooth scrolling is very cool.
It's nice to do a 'mod' that's actually free once in a while
