UK navigation Upgrade to V26 with pics

First of all read this thread by UCrewX5 which is where you can download the update image and also read through how to do it. Read this thread

I have done this post for UK X5 owers to show that the upgrade also works on the UK system. Even though we were told it did, I was still a little worried about doing it, not wanting to get different measurements and voices etc.

So, I followed the instructions and booted the system up by turning the ignition on (at this point I also turned OFF the auto headlights and rear DVD system to stop excessive battery drain).

I then removed the navigation CD and inserted the upgrade CD, got this picture. please excuse the very poor quality, it was actually dark when I did all this as I couldnt wait for daylight.



Then when the disk had initialised i got a little worried as the screen went blank for about 15 seconds.



Finally I got the message I was waiting for.



The next screen confirmed that I was getting the UK upgrade and that all looked ok.



Finally the install finished and the disk was ejected.



I clicked OK, the system re booted and I got my new sparkling software.

Just a note and I cant see how this has happened but my NON working parking sensors (2 weeks of not working) have now since the upgrade this am, started working, completely with no problems. I've tried them loads of times today and they work every time. Could this be anything to do with the upgrade?? I cant see how, but maybe it upgraded more than the nav?

I am going to try mine later I am glad some body tried it with a UK car too

The only prblem I have so far when I go to drag the files into alcolhol it disapears I am hoping it goes into the first file can you confirm this is right

You should be using alcohol 120%, not the cut down version. Just start alcohol and choose the image burning wizard, then browse to the area where you have the files (more than one file for this image) and alcohol will show you which files it can use, just choose the file you downloaded and keep on going.

I've also done the V26 upgrade on a UK spec 2005 3.0D and can confirm it works perfectly.

I did follow all of the original advice in the forum on which software to use and had no problems.
