Adding Navigation, Advice Please?

I’ve just purchased a 2001 X5 3.0D (UK) – It has a factory fitted 16:9 screen / TV, etc but no navigation.

I’ve seen several MK3 navigation units on ebay, could anyone tell me if it will be a matter of simply plugging one of these units in or will there be more work involved?

Check to see if the connectors are there. On the U.S. spec vehicles they are located in the rear compartment where the CD changer would be mounted. There should be a blue connector and a burgandy connector. You may also have to add a GPS antenna.

I will be selling my MkIII as soon as I pick up the 02 4.6is. It should be ready early next week. Make me an offer. I can ship over seas pretty cheap if needed.

The blue one you found is more than likely for the Voice Recognition module. I think you may need a new/additional wiring harness in order to put in the nav.
