Nav Disc altering time.

I'm wondering whether anyone can throw some light on this problem.

I have a 2003 E46 with Sat nav. The software is updated and I have a copy of 2008-1 High Navigation disc currently in the drive. Everything was fine until the clocks went back the other week. When I altered the clock, the computer alters the time +1 hr GMT and it does this within a few minutes of me altering it. I've narrowed it down to the sat nav disc as when I put my original 2003 disc in, the clock stays set. I've checked on the service menu and the clock is correct via the satellite in the menus.

Is there a way of adjusting the info on the disc via Navtweak or Navcoder? I have another copy of same disc and it does it with that as well. I still have the image on my hard drive but don't know what I'm looking for.

Any help on the matter would be appreciated, thanks.

How strange!

Firstly. the GPS time is always in UTC and is not used by the car to alter the cars clock

The cars clock is actually in the instrument cluster, when the nav adjusts the time it sends a time adjustment command to the cluster.

I've never seen, or heard, of this sort of problem and never thought it would be possible. I never believed the map disc had anything to do with time and UTC offset.

Look on the map disc and read the LSC and PSC files in WordPad or Word (you need a unix capable text editor to read the files). See if there is anything about clock/UTC/GMT in there.

Yeah,very strange. I've altered the clock via the instrument cluster, the sat nav, but a few minutes of the disc being in, it goes straight to +1hr.

I'll have a look, see what I can find.

OK.

Just had a look at the ENG.LSC (which is in TPD/nccBeuFNM_eu_20070801/ENG folder) and the INFO.PSC (which is in TPD/nccBeuFNM_eu_20070801 folder) and there's no mention of Time, clock or UTC.

I haven't looked in the other language folders as I imagine they are similar apart from the Language differences.

I can copy & Paste the said files if needed.

I don't think that the problem is caused by the nav disc. In Germany we have a company (www.car-solution.de) offering a module which corrects the time by the sattelite time.

I've had the copy of 2008-1 and the original 2003 disc in and out numerous times and the only time the clock sets itself +1hr is when the 2008-1 disc is in the nav unit. I can't see how it hasn't got anything to do with the disc.
