If your screen is blank and your radio shuts off after 30 seconds or so, that is a sure diagnosis. Your nav computer is dead. You do not need another nav to test with. Those two symptoms together pretty much confirm the problem.

hey my battery keeps dying over night. i checked alternator and batt are OK.
problem are amps! 1,7-1,8 A pulling while car is not running and locked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

last week i have the same problem on my E38 !
I disconnect my TV modul, turn light works again, but the screen are already black.

Y replace my new MK4 modul with old MK2 modul and all works again. After, i replug my MK4 and all works great...

For me it's problem in IBUS... Tv modul shunt down

I had same problem too and after diconecting MK for some time it was all good again but last 3 days battery was giving me hard time, discharging it self over night. Today we disconnected battery for few minutes and after reconnecting amps have drooped to 0,4A and after going to stand by it went to 0,1A which is acceptable. It seams that i bus gets stuck and some components stay running instead of going to stand by. Guy told me some other people had that problem and every few months they just disconnect battery to have whole system reset and is all good after. we will see how long is everything going to be on mine
