"Accept Screen" on Nav monitor won't go away
Is there a way to clear/reboot via battery disconnect? Can this page be made to go away forever? If I'm not mistaken this is the only "Touch" function on this screen, correct? So I don't know if any kind a reset will bring back touch respones. Didn't have a Nav manual at first but do now and it mentions nothing about "Warning" page. When menu was accessed before this started happening the screen looked fine. Last edited by Showbart; 08-19-2010 at 10:16 PM. Reason: for correct known term |

Touch function?
I have this warning screen, it required to be displayed in Aus, simply press the dial on the right side of the screen to "accept" and the screen will close. The LCD has no touch functionality. |

Thx, thought for sure I tried that button to no avail. Because the surface over the "Accept" box on the screen is burnished, my Pavlovian response was to press there as well. I'll go try again, maybe button is sticking.

Yeah know the feeling when I first got in my car I did the same thing... (and yes the same wear is on my screen)

You got that right, not like riding a bike either. Had a '94 & '95 540i but my Bimmer learning curve is nearly flat. I'll get there. My mother in law lived in Melbourne for years, and a dear friend of my English wife's moved there recently from England with her family. So we must get there one day knowing guite few folks. Probably Aussie Open. Beautiful city.
Thx |

The earlier nav software versions would sit on the Disclaimer screen until accepted. Newer versions will clear in about 8 secs even if not Accepted. I had a 2004 X5 and the same thing would happen. When I updated the software to a more recent version (2006) the Disclaimer screen would go away by itself.

Which version of the OS do you have? You can always update.

Setting the region to Europe also removes the warning screen. You may need Navcoder, I don't recall off the top of my head.
