Clarification on SW Levels.

I have a 2003 M5 with a MKIV running OS v28.

My Nav shows it's 4-1/80, Receiver SW Ver 1.8 and Receiver SW Date 15.11.1.

Some posts suggest v32 (4-1/100) as it may solve issues with the new 2009.1 map disk yet others say that v28 is the latest that has any effect on the MKIV.

Can anyone clarify the situation?

Thanks...

Your nav is 4-1/80
Current version is 4-1/100 (displays as 4-1/00)

Wrong, because current 2009.1 map disc is dual-layer DVD in some regions, and can only be read by 4-1/100

If you want to read latest 2009.1 discs, then load 4-1/100 from a V32 OS disc.

Jochen, I have been told that the US flavor of 2009.1 is not dual-layer so, assuming that's true, other than dual-layer reading capabilities, any other reason to upgrade?

It's like "if it ain't broken, don't fix it". I don't have a CD burner so don't want to go that route unless I really have to.

Thanks... Richard...
