No. Do the following:
1. Check connectors at back of nav are clean, fit well, and are correctly seated. 2. Make sure the nav is getting power - does the Eject button illumination work? 3. If the nav has died, you can send to VDO Repair Facility in Wetzlar Germany. Or take the opportunity to replace it with a 2nd hand Mk4 nav and enjoy the upgrade :-) |

MK 3 sat nav problem after flat battery
