2nd, do u have any problem seeing the screen when the sun light hits the screen. I cant see sh!t every time when the sun hits the screen. I ended up sliding a thin cardboard paper between the bezel and air con outlet to use a sun shade Looks very funny if u ask me.

3rd, do u have any problems with noise when using bluetooth? My wife said she cant really hear me half the time when im on the bluetooth with her. Maybe the alpine mic is not as good as ur mic.

Cheers
Aside from LDiggs patronizing me w/ his .25" comment (which I still don't understand, nor did he clarify), this is a big problem for me as well...especially based on how I sit in the car. I just drove to Seattle a few days ago and I can see a brightness change in the screen when I sit upright vs how I normally sit. I'm still looking to sell my bezel and buy the mybimmer.net bezel that tilts the screen down further just for this reason.

I had someone sit in the X and randomly keep talking to me as they moved the mic around till I found an area that didn't sound boomy or hollow. I ended up mounting it in one of the black, blank removeable panels next to the domelight, sunroof switch, etc. I drilled a small hole in it, them lightly Dremeled the hole till the mic slide in and made a tight fit. Just as long as I'm looking forward or to the right, it sounds great.

On a side note, my AVIC F90BT has a USB and iPod connector that I ran to the glovebox. I don't have an iPod, so I use the USB to power a 1TB external harddrive (formatted in NTFS) in a portable metal case that fits in the palm of my hand, so now I can take all my music and movies w/ me.

Thx guys for the feedback.

Im now looking at 2 option to fix the sun glare problem.
1. Getting a tempory cover above the screen that clips in/out when required to provide shade for the screen. This is the cheapest way. Might not be the most pretty.
2. Changing over to a single din unit with fold out screen. Most single din screen allows u to tilt the screen forward and back. So if the sun hit the screen, during the day, I can just adjust it more verticle to avoid the sun. This is going to quite expensive.

BTW, is there any other way for the instument cluster to display date, time etc without factory head unit? My installer said the only way is to plug the unit back in and hide the MID in the glove box. Not going to be easy....

I've got a motorized single din in my M5 and 740iL, they work quite well. The MID will still work even if it's not plugged in, but then you won't be able to do certain things like set the time, date, reset your MPG averages, etc. I relocated mine to the glovebox, it was very easy and only took 5 wires to do so.
