Removing/replacing Nav system

Are there any options for removing my Nav unit/Cassette in my 05 X5 with something else like a FM/AM radio/CD player? New to the X5 and wasn't sure what was available from BMW. thanks!!!

The radio goes in and out, has static and i don't own cassettes anymore....is there anything else out there that would fit in that space like I mentioned?
