Language issue in Navi and OCB
I have MK iV navi. From the first day I bought the car (used) it was displaying messages in English both in OCB and navigation. However, when you went to navigation settings there were only 3 languages available: German, French and Italian (no sign of English). Still, everything worked perfectly until one day my friend, while playing with navigation, switched language to German. From that time English is gone in Navi and OCB and I do not have possibility of turning it on again via navi language settings option. Could you please help me understand if there is possibility of reverting English? I was thinking about doing it via OCB check control but it does not give me chance to switch language but only rather to see currently selected (I could be doing sth wrong). Another thing considered would be updating Navi OS to the latest version. Would any of those options work, is there any other method I could use I will appreciate your help. Thanks |

You car must have been set to English by a previous navigations system that had English installed on it.
The nav tells the vehicle what language to use. To solve your problem, you need to load the correct desired languages on the nav You need the OS software to do this, so you can do an OS software update at the same time To change the languages, visit a friendly dealer, or use my NavCoder software www.siegenthaler.co.nz/NavCoder |

thanks for a quick reply.
Hence, by sole upgrade of the OS languages will not change (I imagined that for example En would be one of default after upgrade) and i would need to use additionally your soft + interface? cheers |

Upgrading the OS does not change the language settings. The languages only get reloaded if the nav is instructed to load new languages.
You can use NavCoder (www.siegenthaler.co.nz/NavCoder) + the Resler interface (www.reslers.de) PS: next version will also support Polish language :-) |
