Voice warning Speed Cameras on MK4 Sat Nav

Does anyone has this sorted for the UK and Europe yet?

Looks like they have sorted it here http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/...howtopic=20384 and the author of the thread is in Europe?

Can't find anything on here though or am I not searching properly?

Welcome to the forum.

edf, Yes this is where that particular mod was introduced, nomad (the software developer), first muted the idea here and most of the development/testing was done by forum members.

Look here in the POISon thread (re; POI-Sound), it has all you need to mod your map disc and mod the OS to accept the sound alerts.

P.S there is a pre modded version of the OS in the thread somewhere, but it has other mods as well, (sky, pointers and splash), so download and use if you like (or not).

You will have to do the other mods yourself as you will need a copy of the 2009-1 map dvd (or cd).

Thanks ccfj1,

Does anyone on here do this for people that aren't that confident at doing so themselves?

i.e. for a small payment will someone (maybe Nomad seeing as he invented this) allow me to send my own splash screen logo (I have already done one actully and saved it as a 400x234px gif), and choose the speed camera logo and pointer logo, and actual voice warnings etc from a list of options (and allow me to turn the voices on and off), and produce the discs for me?

I recently did an OS upgrade to v32 and I have the 2009-1 HIGH maps dvd with all the speed/red light cameras, TMC, 7 digit postcode entry, 3D view and I would want all these to stay as they are -unless someone can get the 7 digit postcode entries to work from the first screen!

If anyone does this can they let me know ASAP with costs (I can send my OS upgrade and maps DVD to the person who does it if they want)?

Thanks
Ed

Post up the modded splash and pointers and I'll see if I can have a go. (no guarantees though )

Modding the already modded map disc will not alter the working of the map disc as you will just be adding the cameras directly to the DB, all other POI will still work as is.

BTW, turning the voice alert on/off is not an option, it's either on or off, you can switch lanugages and this will effectively turn on/off the alert, but this also effects other things in the car.
