Voice Recognition for the 2005 X5?

Is it possible to add the voice recognition module from other 05 models that offer this to the X5? I read here that you could but it looked like it was for a 540. I found a simular connector the article discribed but it has some jumpers attached. I was told by the dealer that the phone system can be activated by voice once the bluetooth phone is installed. Does this mean that the phone has voice recognition in the phone module?

Yes, VR can be added to an '05 X5 and the VR module can be used to control both the phone system (if equipped) and/or the navigation system (if equipped).

The pre-2004 Bluetooth module did have the VR functionality built-in and did not require the stand-alone VR unit. However, the 2005 combo BT/Assist module requires the stand-alone VR unit if you want this capability.
