NAV Software update question

I wanted to see what your thoughts are on the advantages to upgrading my NAV software version and DVD. My DVD disc is v2004-3. My NAV SW 4 -1/91.

Any worthwhile new features on either the sw or disc that would make me want to upgrade one or both? Do the graphics improve or simply POI's and map info?

FYI... the street I live on in Tampa, FL was built in 2001 and my nav version does not show it. I was wondering if the 2009.1 disc would have caught up by now and include, etc. as well.

Thanks!

Rob

the current version is 4-1/100 which allows for reading of dual-layer DVDs.

No other new features.

As the newest maps for many countries are on dual-layer DVDs, you may need the newest version to ensure you can read the newest maps.

And as the upgrade is very simple and straighforward, why not just do it?

I guess the old saying "if it ain't broke...". If there are no new features then why mess with the system which is working perfectly is my thought process.

If the graphics improved or features improved it then would make sense but to upgrade just to upgrade isn't for me. I would really like to search via zip code vs. city/state which takes forever. I understand I need the 2006.2 disc or above which is why I started looking into this in the first place.

To your point if the 2006 disc is dual layer then the answer becomes obvious.

Tip: get a 2009 disc, it's 3 years newer than 2006 :-)

2006 disc = $59. 2009 disc = $199. Why spend the extra $140? From what I've read not much different in the discs other than add'l POI's added...

There was a huge update in POI's for the 2009 disk if that makes any difference to you.
