Aftermrket Cam need help URGENT PLZ

guys,
finally i installed the aftermarket cam... it was hell

anyway strange things happens is that when i turn on the igintion the camera starts working - flikering lso- then when i put on reverse the menu appears

the oposit completely.....
can anyone help and tell me whats wrong i made

try what

i connected the purple/white cable to +cam & 85/87 relay and connected yellow/white to - Cam & 86 Relay then relay 30 to pin 17 bule connector

its not that complicated i guess... but maybe i have selected the wrog wires !!

The relay should only click ON when reverse is selected.
Pins 85 & 86 are the relay coil.
Pin 85 should be to the reverse lights, pin 86 to ground (or vice versa, doesn't matter)

Then the relay contacts switch the rev camera control line
87a and 30 are connected together when the relay is OFF
87 and 30 are connected together when the relay is ON
So connect pin 30 to ground
And connect pin 87 to the rev cam input on the video module

Voila, control of camera input will now work

if i understood you correctly this is what i have done but now the situation is back as if there is no camera connected:
pin 87 & 87a & 30 & cam input pin17
pin 85 & cam+ & reverse+
pin 86 & Cam- & GND

is that right?

Pin 86 (coil +)--------- Reverse light positive
Pin 85 (coil -) ---------Ground

Pin 30 (common) ------Ground
Pin 87 (NO) -----------Reverse Camera input (pin 17 of video module)

Camera power connections
Camera power positive -----Battery (or reverse light positive)
Camera power negative ---- Ground

thanks maybe i can try that once my fingers heal from the wonds caused by layingthe cables ...
i pulled out all the cables and will look to install the license plat cam as its much easyer

i tired all posts regarding relay connection and nothing worked....project rolled back :-(

did any one install a license plate rear view camera that supports guardlines ? i had this option with the camera that i couldnt install, and was searching eBay for hours without reading any of the license plate cameras that support that. so i thought to contact people here as this option might exist but not mntioned and only people who bought and installed it will know ;-)
