Part # of OEM reverse camera module?

I want to retrofit a reverse camera into my e46 with MKIV Navigation and widescreen.

This link:
http://www.bimmernav.com/store/catal...068e358c2e32a2

seems to imply that there is an OEM video module that is plug and play with the MIKV drive and has universal camera hookups...

Anyone have any idea what the part number of the system would be? If Bimmernav is charging $575 for it, I'm sure its list price is around $250...

Thanks!

It looks like there is a whole retrofit kit available:

There are many video modules that will work. You only need the analog type as the hybrid (digital/analog) only gets digital in Europe. You need a VM from ebay and one adapter cable. You can either get a camera kit or buy the parts as many do. A few wires a relay and a camera. I have posted all of the VM part numbers on the nav forum at bimmerboard.com . You just need to get one new enough to work with a small screen or a wide screen. There have been many write ups on the camera install on bimmerboard.com. Look for Brian's.

Thanks I will check out bimmerboard tomorrow when I get some energy...

BTW, with your install--the screen toggles over when the car goes into reverse, correct? No need to manually switch anything right?

Also, whats your bimmerboard screen name for my searching purposes? Mine is the same...

That is the standard installation.

Some people add switches to manually switch the Reverse Camera on when they want to, but that is a personal preference issue

Some people like the camera to come on when in reverse gear, some like it to come on when the reverse lights are on (these two conditions are not the same!)

Remember: BMWs with trailer wiring and original trailer wiring modules switch off the car's reverse lights and rear fog lights when a trailer is connected - hence the difference in how you connect the camera.

I retrofitted an OEM camera to my E46 coupe and I am pretty sure it came with a list of all the parts in the kit and part numbers, I'll check it later in the week.

Also there isn't a module as such if you have TV fitted. Without a TV then there is a separate module which doesn't come with the kit.

I hooked mine up as per the EBA so it turns the camera on when reverse is engaged, it is also set to flick back straight away when you come out of reverse. Originally it is set up to hold the image for 5 seconds, but if you cut a wire it switches instantly. It sources the power off the reverse light.

What are you fitting it to E53? It is not an easy retrofit on the E46.

I am fitting it to an e46... According to the ETK, Rear camera retrofit kit for e46 is 66210303079... Part number 66210303079 was superseded by part number 66210447960, and does not appear to be available in the US... hmmm...

Is that not what

With that link though--does that contain the switching module or is that just the camera? I'm in US, so no TV module...
