4-1/01 although I though it shoul dbe 4-1/00. But that's not a problem.
4-1/00 is OEM 4-1/01 is for the modded version. you cant overwrite with the same version.

When I try to install the:
"M logo Splash, modded Sky OEM colour set 1 and Night/Blue scheme colour set 2 M_day_night_OEM_Blue"
I get a message that this is not a correct upgrade and my screen goes blank.
if you have 4-1/01 the you cant use this image to "update" as its the same version number, you will need to install an OEM 4-1/00 image (or mod the version number yourself, to force the update).

After reinstalling the V31 again
To what, from what?

I am back to like it was before but still cannot install the splash screen.
I need a bit more info mate, what do you have now, and I'll assume you want "M logo Splash, modded Sky OEM colour set 1 and Night/Blue scheme colour set 2 M_day_night_OEM_Blue".

I did burn the cd twice and no difference.

What could I be doing wrong?

Thanks!

Good morning ccfj1
Wow what a response. Thanks for all the good things you do on this forum.
When I started out, I had V26.
Since I did not fully understand all the pre-requisites I just downloaded
“M logo Splash, modded Sky OEM colour set 1 and Night/Blue scheme colour set 2 M_day_night_OEM_Bluefrom the beginning of this thread.
This did not work (of course, I know now) so I tried to burn the image again with “ImgBurn” as recommended. This still did not work and I somehow ended up with a blank screen on the unit.
Before I started panicking too much, I went back to the beginning of this threat and downloaded:
“1: OEM Splash, OEM Day mode, Modded Sky, Custom Night mode (col_set 2 wide and split, but OEM colours) and Day/Night menu text. v31 Night OEM 1010”
Then I burned it with “ImgBurn” and put it into the drive and it did and update. It was very fast and I had my screen back.
Now, since all was good again, I checked the version number and it read: 4-1/01. I looked this up on this table: http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/all-bmw/navigation/9458-bmw-navigation-system-faq.html and figured that it is maybe just a version higher than V31.
I thought this is ok, since I got the image from this thread and tried again to update with “M logo Splash, modded Sky OEM colour set 1 and Night/Blue scheme colour set 2 M_day_night_OEM_Bluewhich failed again.
I am sure I am doing something wrong, but I am new and I have a hard time reading thru all the thousands of posts to catch up.

Thanks

Afternoon mate (well it is here in te UK).

OK, I will make you a special image up as soon as I can with what you need, I'll change the version number and sort all the other stuff out as well, I'll pm you the link.

So you want the OEM colour set from the colour set 1 to be on colour set 2 (night) as well??

I'll also check the image that you say doesn't work. (thanks for the heads up).

I also would like to thank everybody on the forum!
This is what the internet is all about, legally sharing information and know-how!
I think that a manufacturer like BMW should be greatful for a community like this; they should be sponsering this site!
Anyway, I am not BMW but I decided to at least pay a $35 annual fee to become a premier member and thereby supporting this site!

Thanks everybody!
