The Vxx is NOT a firmware, but the system software. Download the V32 - the system will find the suitable version on the CD by itself. take this one - its by @appy http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IP0KD0O0 mfg peter |

After I have upgraded and drove the car for around 30 minutes. Came back and turned off the car then quickly turn to position 1 but my splash screen was not appearing. I have read the previous post I think PhillipX has similar issue. I will turn off car and wait for a while then try again. Anyone got any suggestion of why my new splash screen won't come up ??? |

^ mine usually pops up when I unlock the car, but not if I jump out and then right back in. I think it takes some time for the system to shut completely down...
Hopefully you just didn't wait long enough.

Turning the ignition a minute after switch of is not enough time, it needs approx 10-15 minutes.

Not sure how long I have to wait. Just back in just now (after 25 minutes). Open door no image (black screen). I think I will wait for couple hours now then try again.

Can someone advise me on how to create a mode2 ISO file, that is as far as I can get... I've tried several apps but each time I check it with imgburn I see it is mode1. I'm stumped!!!

Use magiciso and start with a mode2 image and save (not save as), that way it retains the correct format.
or use mode2convertor. (this is what I use).

I d/l your first upload, which is MK3-1/64, my MK III is currently 1/63.
I use ISOBUSTER to extract the original, then NAVTWEAK to swap the usw_loadfile in Mk3116BMWC01Sapp_sw. I save it to the origial extracted location using the same name. I do the same in all 4 x MK3 locations. This is where I go wrong (I think), I use magiciso to create a new ISO using my modified extracted folder. I then use UbiK mode2cdmaker GUI v1.6 to convert to mode2. I double check it with imgburn, then burn to CDr. After all this my MK III unit just ejects it immediately, HELP!

OK, I see what you are doing wrong.
Open any OS and extract all the files into a sub-dir called say "v32-mine" Edit the files you want "usw_loadfile" etc and save them (in there correct place). When finished, run m2cdmgui.exe (the mode2cdmaker gui) and drag and drop all the files in the sub dir into the window, make sure the volume name is NAV_SW and them hit the write ISO. This creates a mode2/form1 image.
