You must have a BM54-Radio and this will going wrecked.

Only available helps could be, to look at your wires and controll all connection on the radio.

Hi

I have another thread in the Naviagtion forum as I have the message 'please wait' on my nav after the battery went flat.

I have tried disconnecting the battery and pulling the fuses but that does not work.

It has been suggested to me to update to the latest firmware and to look here to find it.

This is what it states on my Nav 4 - 1/2

Can you please help me identify which link I need to download the latest version to try and fix my problem?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Oh dear, this is not good, the battery dying kills the nav computers laser setup, (it shouldn't but it does) I think its to to with the laser position memory, I think it gets screwed up and corrupts the memory chip.

Well this is very old and the first revision of the mk4 OS, v32 will be better.

It's possible, but I would not hold my breath, if you are able to unzip and burn a CD then PM me your email address and I will send you an OEM v32 image to try.

Normally only a new laser will fix the problem, there is a fix from BMW, but this requires a core swap of the loading mechanism, cost wise it about 100 pounds.

If you suspect that the battery will die, eject the map disc and leave it out.

HTH

Thnak you ccfj1 , got the Firmware image. Now i will have to find out wich files to edit for my own splash screen. Did that on MK IV so far. MK III seems to differ.

Mate, be very careful with the mk3 as if you get it wrong you brick the mk3 and its then kaput.
