NAV unit time resets??
I do have an odd issue though. I upgraded my 2003 M3 NAVI software using the resources found here. Everything went very well and smooth. However the time will change automatically to GMT -1. IOW if the clock is manually set to 7pm it will change automatically to noon or something like that. If I set it back and leave the system on it will be fine.. stopping and restarting the car will result in a reset usually within 15 minutes or so. I have an Autologic at my shop but the NAVI is set the U.S. It's weird since the GPS should KNOW where it is. |

The nav does NOT set the vehicle time by GPS.
The nav tells the instrument cluster to set the time when you enter the command in the nav. The clock is physically lockated in the insrument cluster Some 7-series had the radio-controlled clock receiver in them - does your car have this option? NavCOder would allow you to see exactly what is happening.... |

But the function is not built in.
And then you'd have to handle GMT offsets as well... If your time is resetting then the real-time clock in the instrument cluster is likely to be faulty. Tried a hard reset? (Battery off, wait 15min, battery on) |

I'll give it a shot tomorrow, seems drastic which is why I have not done it so far, I appreciate the help!

It isn't resetting to noon, it is resetting to GMT -1 this is why I thought it might be a NAV issue since GPS is based on GMT.
