Unhappy Laser change MKIV gone terribly wrong...please help *SOLVED*

I have changed the laser on my MKIV unit, and followed the Instructions I found on this board. Connected the unit today, and turned on the ignition.
Then I heard a "ticking" noise from the monitor, which lasted for some seconds, and I noticed a smell of burned electronics.

There is no picture on my monitor. I can however eject the cassette fine. Also the DVD drive seems to work, I can insert and eject the disc.

But my indicator lights does not work any more. Neither does the alarm, central locking or air conditioning.
I have also got an error light on the SMG gear box.

Does anyone have any idea of what could have happened here?

Best Regards

Tommy
