You can download any of the newer versions as they all will update UP TO 1/63. Here is ccfj1's customized image...I have this one:

Dear Brian,

Thanks for the link. I downloaded it to my Macintosh. Now how do I burn it in a mode 2? The software I have is Disk utility of Mac. Do I need to download any other program?

Thanks much

The image should already be in Mode2/Form1 but I can't confirm that it'll work. The burning software might give you some information that the image is indeed Mode2. I'm not positive on a Mac how to check though...

Just use the standard OS. Then you won't damage anything.

This is because you have saved the image as a mode1, never ever put a mode1 disc in a mk3, never assume that saving back a mode2 image will save it as a mode2, it won't, it saves it as mode1.

There is a thread that tells you in detail how to do this.

In brief;

Mk3 nav computers don't use the navboot file, they use the usw_load file from the mk3 dir.

Download a OEM mode2/form1 v32 and try an resurrect your crashed mk3, you may or may not be able to do this, it's 60/40 against it at the moment.

Here is a mode2/form1 OEM v32 that might help.

I edited the sw_rel.tbl and usw_load file in this iso file. I used magiciso..

When i try to burn the iso file after saving, i keep getting W 15:36:21 Miscompare at LBA: 74744, Offset: 2072, File: \MK3\0116\BMWC01S\APP_SW\USW_LOAD burning it with imgburn..

Any thoughts.?

BTW. I opened the iso file with magiciso, copied the two files and inserted them in magiciso before choosing save..

If making a mode2/form1 I use mode2cdmaker mate, I have problems when I try magiciso, so I don't use it.

Not off the top of my head, when you edit the 2 files are you using drag and drop (to a folder) then using a hex editor then drag and drop (from same folder) back into the image?

did you try a crc check on the new USW_LOAD file?

hmm, that should have worked...

Send me the splash (and any other mods) and I will make you a new OS up and post a link.

1. I tried mode2cdmaker before. Never got the hang of it. But well worth another shot.. can you use mode2cdmaker to extract the files to be edited.? Or do you need another prog.?

I tried burning the isoi file without opening and saving it with magiciso, and this time it was burned without errors. So it seems clear that magiciso is causing the problem. I have windows 7 64bit. Donn't know if that matters.?

2. As you could see. I used the drag and drop technique when editing the files. I did not do a crc check. Not sure how to...
