TomTom speedcam functionality with the release of POiSon

Hi Guys,

Now that POiSon allows you to add speedcams to the Military base POI that is always enabled (irrespective of looking for another POI i.e. petrol station); I was wondering if the original CAM method (pimp-my-nav method / 81.idx, 82.idx etc) can be enabled at a same time with a diff icon?

This is where you get a dedicated speedcam option then associate a diff picture (different from the military base now replaced cam icon) and only input Mobile cameras.

If both are seen on screen at the same time, you would get a TomTom cam affect where mobile cams are seen and static cams (military base replaced) seen - both at the same time :-)

Appreciate any thoughts as I couldn't get it to work - possibly due to the same co-ordinates?

Cheers,
Menacez

This is exactly how I run mine mate, alert for all real fixed cameras, with yellow camera icon and all mobile/redlight cameras (as 2nd poi) with red/blue camera icon.

Works a treat, only downside it you have to manually load the 2nd POI every time you get in the car, it's ok for long journeys but tiresome foe shot trips.

Yeap thats your problem, load the POIson db with all the fixed cameras and make the red/mobile with PMN (or by hand).

That way no camera duplicate (for same location).

Thanks for the post mate. That makes sense... I was hoping on having all speedcams via POiSon but also having mobile/redlight as secondary cams.

I guess when there is an overlap in coordinates - both icons wont show up?

You can have that, that's what I do, but the locations can't exist in both DBs for it to work properly.

TBH I don't 100% know for sure, I think that they both try to occupy the same space so they don't appear, or one or the other shows up (it will be hit and miss as to which one).

yea its a shame coz i wanted the luxury of voice alerts on all cams (fixed, mobile, redlight) and seeing a diff icon for mobile & redlight cams...

Guess its a trade-off...

Having said that, its come a long way and awesome work - the day/night stuff is cool - thanks to you for that one mate :-)

Lol, it's a miracle that we have the alert at all mate, I tried all the cameras with alerts and it gets very tiring very quickly.
