as i said in my other post...have to use a software that force mk3 to load navi sw cd...i did this with a mk3 bricked with mode1 cd...same story: blank screen and no cd loading, i used inpa - there is an option, something like "force cd load flag" or something...can't remember exactly...anyway, after that operation, mk3 worked as new

Seems you have nothng to lose by trying the factory OS disk. The alternative is to find and old Ver. maybe 17 or 18 and try to reset it way back and then up date it. I'd try the factory V.32.

You're not listening to the advice you are being given my friend (no offence).
Here is a run down of your problem. 1: you have burned a mode1 disc and inserted that into your mk3, this is bad, you have corrupted the ROM on your nav computer and you now have a black screen (the nav is in a crashed state, and will stay that way). 2: You need a mode2/form1 formatted OS disc to attempt to rescue the drive. 3: Depending on what version your drive was running and what you put in (I'll assume v32 (which is 3-1/63) for the mk3), then you need to force the nav computer to reload a good OS (in the correct format) to attempt to rescue the drive, to do this you need to modify the version number of the OS (do a search for this). 4: Even though the nav is in a crashed state it will still take an OS disc, and IF its a "new" (ie; not the same) version number then IT WILL ATTEMPT to so the update. Do not put the mode1 OS disc you used back in the drive. Do not put the map disc in the drive. 1; go to the dealer and get the OEM update disc and try that first, if your drive was already at the latest version of OS, then it will do nothing, this means you need to : A: Get an older version of the OS v17 (in mode2/form1 remember) B: Make a modded version of the OS and change the version number to FORCE the update. Also when burning use the slowest rated speed of the blank cd. HTH

Yes that looks OK, try it and hopefully it will be a different version and will bring the mk3 back to life, good luck.
