With any GPS unit, you'll need to drive around in a circle to get it to "find" you. Did you do that?

Another suggestion is to park it in an open area for a while, such as a parking lot.

Moved mine 6000 miles without turning it on for 6 weeks and it took over an hour to finally find itself. Think its just a matter of processing the GPS info and the map info sync up.

Are you using a copied DVD Map disk? or original map DVD?

If you are using a copied version of the Map DVD, trying to copied it again to a better quality media and try DVD-R media as well as DVD+R media.

In my case, I had a my map "jumping" and "stopping" problems and once I changed to DVD-R media, it seems to be gone.
