Map updates Aust.
I currently have map disc 12 (latest is 16 I believe) australia and this works fine on my existing system, tonight my mate brings over his OEM factory non copied disc 13 and my system wont recognise the disc Q: is there something I need to do to get my system to recognise the new map disc at all? Thanks Dubs |

there is nothing that can be changed on the nav to read or ignore different maps.
Your mates disc will be from a different vehicle with different nav There are a few different map formats in use with BMW - eg the iDrive nav systems use different maps to the non-iDrive - with 1 exception: 10 points to you if you can point out the exception :-) |

The maps from the idrive m3 and the non-iDrive X5 are different formats: incompatible and non interchangable.
To *coff* aquire one at an affordable price, become good friends with your BMW parts manager in your town and try and win one in a game of poker, swap one for a crate of beer, or get him to enter triple staff discount for you...... |
