I concur, use imgburn mate, its free and ideal for this sort of thing.

Downloaded and installed imgburn and having a look at the app, have a few questions -
1. The first screen displays: What would you like to do?
So which one do I choose? Write image file to disc or write files/folders to disc

2. If I select write image file to disc, I see where I can set the write speed (and Mode in toolbar selects write); if I select write files/folders to disc, I get another screen - this time Mode is set to build but here you can set both write speed (device tab) as well as Data Type ie Mode2/Form1.

So it seems to me that I would select files/folders and open the files .ccd, .img and .sub. Correct?

Can I also open netspeak, netweak and POI files and burn them on the CD as well? If I can, how does one run those utilities?

Sorry for all the questions but I'd rather be safe than crash the system.

Choose Source, then the image file, check it loads as MODE2/FORM1, check the burn speed is low (mine only support 4x and I get warnings during the burn below that) then press the big button at the bottom.

i'm doing this today!!! i'll give it a go....i downloaded everything i need...when i look for the source, i find the folder, open it and theres 2 items..one is a ccd file and the other image file....i was forced to use the ccd file. It then has mode2/form1/2352....
i can only assume i am using the right file to burn?
if i try to pick image file, it says it'll change it for me this time....i hope this is right...i'll be popping it into the drive this afternoon...
Can anyone chime in if i'm doing this right, pop disc with ignition to 1? then start it, then turn off?

If you use ImgBurn it will automatically select the correct file and create the CD from the image

When you insert the OS CD, the nav will check it to make sure it is the right CD then give you instructions on the screen. Follow the instructions.

NEVER turn the key off during the reflash, wait until the OS load has finished

i'll give it a go shortly....just kinda scared it might mess everything up!!!

Forgot to say, much help to X5 Meister , been a helpful member giving me the know how to do this!!! so i did it...atleast i think so....loaded up, told me to take cd out, powered off...now this is where i stopped...after i turn it back on, am i suppose to put back the original cd or the new one i just burned? also noticed when i went to lock the car, the alarm didn't sound? but it sounds when i unlock it?
