monitor problems
im having trouble with my mk111 monitor sat nav on a 2002 e46the stereo shuts down with ignition but the monitor dosnt even if to monitor off option it still drains the battery the problem started when i lost sound on stereo an sat nav then read some where that there is a safety cut out and you have to remove fuses 7,41 then replace too get sound back which i done and volla got my sound back but now the monitor dosnt switch of with ignition any ideas cos its a pain in the but too keep removing the fuses each night ![]() one other thing the clock dosnt hold time on monitor or on trip computer Last edited by gonch69; 04-25-2010 at 02:51 PM. |

Not heard of this fault before mate, I'd be tempted to remove the battery and leave it off over night and see if it fully resets everything.
Remember to do the power down on the mk3 first. BTW is the monitor 4:3 or 16:9 (wide). P.S welcome to the forums.

Does the monitor turn on and off correctly if the radio module is unplugged? Or the nav?

Yes in the boot on the backs of the units. Do one at a time.

hi again tried disconnecting radio and nav module plus amp or tv tuner not sure what the other one was with no joy monitor just stayed on could it be a ignition fault ? or does somthing need reseting one other thing is the radio used to go off instantly but now goes off after about 5 seconds when ignition turned off .
i noticed that the gps unit power light dosnt go off is this normal too many thanks james |

Don't forget, nav takes 60 seconds from last door closing/opening to turn off.
