3 serie (E46) can read the DVD but X5(e53) can't read

Just registered because I have a little problem.

So here are 2 cars, one X5 ( e53, 2003 ) and one 3 serie ( e46, 2005 ).

Both have MK4 and both updated to V32.2 .

The problem is that the e46 can read the Road Map 2010 High but the e53 can't. Burned these on Mirror dvd's.

Is it because of the quality of the Mirror dvd's ? And should i buy Verbatims instead ?

thx

well see if it works on the original disc, if not then you know you have a problem

by the way, welcome to the forum!

Thx. Works without a problem on the original software

Have bought Verbatim dvd's today and tested them on a E46 and e65 and worked on both so i guess it were the bad dvd's.

I'm going to test it in a few days on the e53

Many MKIV nav computers have difficulty reading DVD copies, but they are perfectly fine with original disks. If yours works with an original but not with a copy, then you likely have one of "those" MKIV nav computers. You will most likely need to buy an original map disk for your E53.

Difficulty reading burnt map discs but OK reading pressed (original) map discs can also be a sign of a laser getting old and weak
