Telephone link lost on control module

can any one help ....

I have bought an x5 e53 facelift, it has generation 4 ulf installed ...Previous i could see the phone link, but could not pair my iphone 3gs ...

I have gone through the links and tried to pair and nothing would work.

I opened the centre console pairing module and the white 4 wire connector was out, fitted it and put it back together...

Then all of a sudden, i lost the telephone link on my screen and no where to be found ?

I i have disconnected the battery for 30 min and put it back together and still no joy ...

So i can pair phone , because i cant even see the phone link ???? Is it the gps ?

I have up graded the firmware with the latest 2010 firmware , with moded spec and splash screen

Lol ...this is now really worn me out !

help any one help

Disconnect the 4 wire plug, this is crashing the ULF by the sound of it, maybe the cradle has a fault (and thats why is was disconnected).

If you have navcoder or an intravee (ipod interface) then you can initiate a BT pair with either of these.

You may be able to force a pair with the pair and gnd from the pair plug, but I'd need to know the wire colours.

The BT and nav systems work independently, the phone is displayed on screen like the nav, tv, radio and cd.

Updating the nav will have no barring on the phone, tv, cd changer, radio etc....

It's worth a shot mate, it did stop working after you plugged it in.

It will depend on what version of firmware you are running on the IV, let me know what you have and we can go from there.

No, I wouldn't, as the console is pretty useless, but its up to you.

No problem, it's under the setup menu (under software).

Ok, you can use that to push the ULF into pair mode.

You first need to assign the pair function, use setup (on display or keys), not sure which.

Use the long key press on the phone button, will be ideal.
