It has alerts just not alert on/off.

No, Read the thread mate, it has all the details.

Basically the on/off is only for the UK as I know what the 1st,2nd and 3rd languages are in the set menu.

I don't know what they are in your country, so can't do this mod for you.

Ok so I tried to hide the LCM and nav sensor and the unit dims when NAV not running.
But wen the navi is on - it does not dim. Anyways I will wait for the new firmware next week and see what happens.

BMW will not be releasing any more firmware for out mk4's, and my update is only cosmetic, so if you have a fault then it wont fix it.

The dimmer should work on the screen regardless of what's running on the screen (thats irrelevant to the dimmer circuts).

I tested this in my car to, i have a sensor in the instrument cluster, when i hold my hand over it, the light in the cluster gets realy strong, and when i remove my hand it get dark again.

I hold my hand over that one, and on the screen, but nothing happend with the light on the screen Even when i removed both hands

Not sure then, at night my nav screen is freakin bright, i have to manually dim it.
Could the auto dimmer be faulty then?

Its just the same with me..

Very anoying
Maybe its possible to change the sensor?
