16:9 screen blank, no LEDS

Hi All,

Just doing a retrofit (MKIII and 16:9 screen) and thought i would plug everything in to test.

I get a red light on the NAV Unit, the radio comes on and I can use the steering wheel controls for the radio.

BUT, I get nothing on the screen, not even a light, and the controls on the screen certainly dont do anything.

I dont have a MAP CD in the the unit.. Do you have to have a map CD before the screen is turned on?

The guy I got the screen from had a photo of it working.

The cable is not a retrofit cable, but a replacement harness.. Do I need to jump pins on the TV/Vid module connectors to "turn on" the screen.

Can ideas? Please help.

Rob

Thanks for the response.

No, nothing works on the monitor at all.

But, I think I found the problem. It seems the connectors on the back are faulty or not connecting properly.

I can move them around, and the NAV unit senses the screen and turns it on. If i move the cable slightly, it turns off. If I dont touch the cables, it stays on.

However, once it is on, none of the controls work.

Ok, fixed it.

It was the connectors, but not the pins, the casing (Blue And White). For some reason, I removed the cases, plugged in the connector without the cases, and it worked 100%. So the cases being locked into place, must have been causing some of the pins not to touch.

So, that fixed up the screen display and the buttons, as they all work now too.
