This is totally normal. The radio needs to be "introduced" to the nav computer. Officially, this requires dealer coding. However, there are two other methods: OS downgrade/upgrade or coding with NavCoder. Here is a post that explains it in more detail.
Restoring INFO & SELECT is easy; white line may be a screen defect Of the three options, I recommend NavCoder.

Yes, Progman will work. Follow the path for nav computer replacement. Then follow the instructions in the TSB.
